The ticker is used to display short text information within a designated screen area. The text scrolls automatically in the specified direction.
Methods for Creating a Ticker Element
In the IT-Screen web service, the Ticker element is created using the corresponding widget.
Two creation methods are available:
1. Menu Library — button
2. Menu Karmiks — button →
Creating a Ticker via Library
Steps:
1. Go to the Library section → click
2. In the Create New Element form, select the type Text
3. After selection, the configuration fields will be displayed automatically
4. Fill in the following fields:
- Element name — user-friendly name, e.g.: “Ticker 1”
- Text — message content, e.g.: “Attention! This is a sample ticker. Thank you.”
- Font size — defined in pixels (px). Recommended default: 50px
- Behavior — text animation options:
- Move off screen — moves from the right edge beyond the left
- Move to the edge screen — moves from right to left edge
- Scroll between right and left edges — moves from one edge of the screen to the other
- Speed — numeric value (higher = faster). Recommended default: 6
- Font color and Background color — selected from palette; HEX codes allowed for corporate colors
- Element tags and Description — optional parameters
- Priority — used only for queue components. Default value: 5
5. Changes are instantly reflected in the preview window.
6. Once completed, click
The created element will appear in the Library. Default duration: 15 seconds. All parameters can be modified later.
Creating a Window for the Ticker
A separate window is required to display the ticker, which overlays the main content. Rules are described here.
1. Typically, the window is placed at the bottom of the screen:
2. The preview window shows the placement:
3. The Z parameter is important — it defines the stacking order. A higher Z-value means the window will overlay others.
Creating a Karmik for the Ticker
To broadcast the ticker, create a karmik (playlist). You can add an unlimited number of Ticker components. Rules are described here.
1. Assign all required tags. Use a separate window created specifically for the ticker. The karmik tag can be created or selected from existing ones.
2. Additional parameters:
- Duration — set based on text length, behavior type, and speed
- Impressions per hour — defines display interval to avoid constant overlaying of main content
3. The component can be edited at any time:
Broadcasting to a Physical Device (Karmik Subscription)
Before broadcasting, ensure the device is connected to the IT-Screen network.
1. Go to the Devices section and subscribe the device to the desired karmik:
2. Result:
